2018 End of the Year Wrap Up- Hot Trends and my favorite polishes of the year! Part 1- Mainstream Polish!

I made it a goal this past year to try more drugstore/mainstream nail polish, and there were some I really really liked! First, let’s go with one I tried later in the year but that I love – Zoya Verushka. It’s a satin emerald green and it’s gorgeous!

Next up is China Glaze I got a Blue Attitude. Love the color and the formula is great! This was part of their Summer 2016 Lite Brite collection, that was a great collection!

Then we have OPI Suzi and the Seven Dusseldorfs. Honestly, the formula is a pita, but the color! I LOVE the color! Such a perfect red/purple! This was from their Fall 2012 Germany collection! I didn’t buy it that long ago, it’s actually a pretty recent acquisition, so I’m sure you can still find it.

I really liked all three of the L’oreal Huile polishes that I have, these are Violet Vendome, Fuchsia Palace and Vert Epoque. All of them pretty much applied themselves. And I’m scared of cream polishes, lol. They just show every little flaw! But these didn’t! A friend picked these up for me in Canada, I don’t think they were released in the US. I also love the bottles!

OPI Say Hello Kitty is a gorgeous polish. A shimmery hot pink is always right up my alley!! The Hello Kitty collection came out in 2016, and I did pick this up at the time, but then didn’t wear it until now.

NOPI Very Cherry was a surprise love for me, it’s very vampy color, and the formula was great! I was afraid it would be patchy and weird, but it was a dream to work with- and it didn’t stain me!

China Glaze Sin-derella is another gorgeous polish from their 2017 Halloween Collection (Happily Never After, such a great name for a Halloween collection!) I actually didn’t pick this one up, and then when I wanted it I couldn’t find it anywhere, but a great Makeup Alley Nail Board member had an extra she gifted me, and I’ so grateful because it’s gorgeous! You should all be on the nail board, we’re awesome people to hang out with!

And now an Essie polish! I don’t have many Essie, but I really liked Bell Bottom Blues. Great color and formula, and it didn’t stain me!

I had seen this polish, Cover Girl’s Bombshell, in a picture and I found it in a destash, and it is a great polish! Hot pink and easy to work with! I have no idea how old this polish is, but it’s amazing!

NOPI again! Back to Reality TV. I love this kind of color, and it wasn’t super sheer- I did do 3 coats. I love this color blue with the pinkish shimmer! This was from their Kardashian collection back in 2012!!!

OPI’s Apartment for Two is a classic OPI hot pink. They dupe themselves on this color so much I think (I saw a post comparing several hot pinks and the differences were miniscule). But this is the one is the one I tried, even though I’m scared of creams, and it practically applied itself. It was so easy, and I ADORE the color! Such a happy color! So I don’t care if they dupe the color, this one is gorgeous!

Sally Hansen put out Crayola polishes in their Insta-dri formula. They came out with metallics, and I picked up 3 and they were all amazing! These, in Razzmic Berry and Metallic Sunburst, were indicative of all of them, gorgeous in 2 coats with no brush strokes (I tried Shimmering Blush too). The cool thing about the Insta-dri polishes is that they make good stamping polishes!

Seche had (has? IDK) a line of polishes that were being clearanced at Sally Beauty Supply and I picked up this one, Intrepid. Wow, it blew my socks off, I LOVE this color and the formula was divine!

China Glaze revamped their 2008 OMG! Collection in 2018, the OMG! Flashback collection. I tried a couple from that collection, and they were really great! One I tried, IDK, is pretty much a color dupe for Color Club Eternal Beauty, but the other one I tried BFF, was my favorite! They both had great formulas, but I liked the color of BFF more. I do like the red toned purples, if you can’t tell, lol

And last but not least, OPI The Color of Minnie. It’s a red polish with a pink shimmer, and it’s stunning! It is from their 2012 Vintage Minnie Mouse collection. I’m not usually one for red polishes, but add in that pink shimmer and ooooooh, I must have it!

So these were my top mainstream polish picks for 2018!!! Have a happy and fabulous (and safe!) New Year! See you on the flip side!

Live your life with love in your heart and glitter on your nails!
