Hi there! Happy New Year! Last year was….a tough year. My husband died on January 8, 2023. And that started just a lot of things happening. Making sure my kids were okay (he passed away at home with EMS working on him- we were all there for all of it, though I sent them upstairs). Then we did a lot of already planned home renovations that threw everything into an upheaval, and that included moving my whole nail polish room to another space. Of course, that meant everything was disorganized and crazy and there was not even space TO polish my nails for awhile, lol. Now we’re at the tail end of things, just going through things (DH was hoarder adjacent, so I am going through stuff he never would go through, like his parent’s things he inherited after they died in the late 1990s). All this to say- I did not keep up with the blog like I would have wanted to.

But I plan to be back with 3 posts a week! Plus on “off” days, I am going to post some random older posts that have been ready for awhile, but I haven’t posted yet- just to get them up, lol.

But this is the first official post of 2024, lol, and my first three manis of 2024! For NYE I wore Nine Zero Lacquer Party Dress. I wish she would come back! LOL

Pictures do not do this justice. It’s a gold metallic with teeny tiny little colored glitters.

I wish there were just a few more of those colored glitters in the base.

I like this more antique gold instead of the bright yellow gold.

I did do three coats, though I probably could have gotten away with two coats. You can see some a little red and yellow glitter here on my ring finger (on the right).

here you can see a smattering of blue and an orange (or maybe it’s red- they are super tiny, lol). Overall I liked it but not loved.

Then I wore an OLD Bee’s Knees Lacquer- their first bottle shape! I hated those, soooo easy to knock over, lol. This is Sunriser, and of course, a gorgeous pink.

This is such a pretty mid-toned pink! And I love the gold shimmer in this.

Great formula, even though it’s many years old! Although I did have to be careful not to pull up the previous coat when I appled the next coat. But I think it would have been that way even when I first got it ages ago!

I hate it when my middle finger nail breaks, it just looks yucky to me, lol.

Look at that shimmer!! So pretty.

Then I wore Tonic Toxic- another brand I wish would come back. This polish has just such a soft quality to it, almost satiny.

I love the little holo sparks in this polish, it is really just so pretty.

I was impressed with the polish’s rainbow sparks even just under my camera lights.

The formula was great, even though I think this is one of my older Tonics, and it’s probably 7-8 years old! I may have even gotten it when she sold her polishes on Etsy!

And this is one of my favorite shades of purple, I feel like it’s pretty neutral, and it wasn’t brush-strokey.

It was so fun to pull out some older polishes to start the year! Not that I didn’t buy a TON of new polish last year, even if I didn’t wear a ton. I will be doing a year end wrap up for 2023 with my few favorites.
