I was thinking about this the other day, that there have been several brands since I started collecting nail polish in 2015-ish who are no longer making polish. I wanted to do kind of a roundup of the ones I know if.  Are there any you know of that I’m missing?

Celestial Polish closed up shop a few months ago. Her last creation was her June 2018 Polish Pickup contribution- she has held out a little hope that she may be back in the future. This is her polish There’s a Party in my Polish and You’re Invited- I love this one!!!  She’s made some hints that she might be back in the future. This is their Facebook fan page, Celestial’s Stars, which is where any word of a return would be posted.

 

 

Powder Perfect just closed! I’ve been sharing my hauls from there in my posts. Their polish, Utopia, is a top 5 polish for me.  It was a duo with Elysium, and that is gorgeous as well, this is Elysium.

 

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer (OPNL) is the only brand I know of created by a man, Dave. He had an Etsy site, but that’s defunct now. He is still creating polishes, which he posts in his Facebook fan page, The Octosquad, and you just post what you want and pay by PayPal.  His shipping is super fast! I’ve gotten a couple in destashes, this is Stoneheart, and it’s a gorgeous holo! 

I got into Frenzy Lacquer in a big way, buying a bunch (26).  She is a caregiver for her husband, who is a veteran, and decided to not create polish anymore. They are super pretty polishes! I think that she does some small stuff at craft fairs now. The light blue polish is hers, called Mirage. 

 

NerdLacquer is apparently still in business, but I rarely see them. I do have 1 of their polishes and really like it.

 

Pretty Serious is closing for the time being- they say they’re going to reopen in 2019, but are having a big old blow out sale, 60% off with the code CLOSING- until all the polish is gone! Their Facebook page is Pretty Serious Party People, which I’m sure will have updates on what’s to come next! An Uzi from Daddy is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE polishes! Polish Addict Nail Color- they did a bunch of crellies, etc. I got a few minis- before I realized I didn’t like minis, lol. They were okay, but nothing to write home about. I know they were still selling polish in 2016, but then they kind of dropped off the face of the earth.

Polish Your Dreams- this is another one that kind of dropped off the face of the earth. I did order from them, and had not a great experience- shipping took forever, and the polish was meh. I never did see much about them, and after 2016 really didn’t hear much from them.

Older brands that have gone out of business are Rescue Beauty Lounge, Arcane Lacquer, Indigo Bananas, and Elevation (though I’m not sure they’re 100% out of business, I know there was some stuff that wasn’t 100% on the level).

I don’t love small businesses going out of business, it’s kind of a bummer, but sometimes life and circumstances get in the way, which is totally understandable.
